About The Position

The position involves assessing the needs of patients based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data. The role requires providing appropriate age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice. The nurse will foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors. Additionally, the nurse will utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff, and will utilize standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators. The nurse will contribute to the overall performance of the department through precepting and mentoring novice employees, and will support department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives that cultivate nursing-involved Evidence Based Practices. Continued professional growth is expected through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. The nurse may also float to assist in other like units as needed and will perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Advanced resuscitative certification appropriate to population if serving in a charge nurse role.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
