About The Position

The Staff Nurse - Mental Health/Psych position at Kaiser involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a defined group of patients, adhering to established nursing standards and policies. Requirements

• Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Registered Nurse License (Washington) or Compact License required at hire.
• Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

• Ambulatory care nursing experience.
• Primary nursing or case management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing assessment of nursing care needs for a defined group of patients.
• Develop a written plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and patient needs.
• Assist patients and families in developing health care goals as part of the individualized care plan.
• Determine priorities of patient care based on essential needs and available resources.
• Provide nursing interventions safely and competently, including telephone consultations.
• Evaluate patient responses to care and modify care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrate understanding of the physiological and psychological effects of aging in care planning.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and emotional needs.
• Identify educational needs and develop teaching components for nursing care plans.
• Promote patient self-care and adherence to therapeutic regimens.
• Adhere to documentation, safety, and infection control standards set by KFHPW.
• Participate in continued education and professional development activities.
