About The Position

The Staff Nurse position at the Integrated Call Center involves providing telehealth support to patients, referring entities, and business partners. The role requires utilizing nursing processes to educate and care for patients through telephone and electronic communication. The nurse will assess health concerns, provide guidance, and ensure quality care while working in a hybrid environment.

Requirements

• Current RN license to practice nursing in Iowa by date of hire.
• An Associate's Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• 3-5 years of RN Clinical Nursing Experience is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• General computer skills and ability to multi-task are required.

Nice To Haves

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing is highly desired.
• Previous experience with telephone triage is desired.
• Experience with high-volume public contact/customer service is desired.
• Comprehensive knowledge of University of Iowa Health Care clinical programs is desired.
• Experience handling a multi-phone line system is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide support via telephone and electronic communication to UI Healthcare patients and partners.
• Utilize nursing processes to educate and care for patients through telehealth.
• Evaluate the quality of nursing care provided by other staff members.
• Participate in the development of unit and hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute to staffing solutions and participate in strategic planning processes.
• Maintain knowledge of Telehealth Nursing Practice and Standards of Care.
• Develop and implement patient/family teaching plans based on health education needs.
• Participate in the orientation and ongoing education of nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and share best practices.
