About The Position

The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Director in the Outpatient Infusion department. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individualized care in a patient care area according to departmental policies and procedures and the Nurse Practice Act. The nurse will individualize patient care based on age-appropriate and developmental needs and will accept responsibility for directing co-workers in the implementation of the care plan. Collaboration with physicians, patients/families, and members of the healthcare team is essential in delivering a comprehensive plan of care. Positive communication skills are required, and the nurse may be required to work on other nursing units based on staff and patient distribution. The nurse should demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their unit.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
• Must have successfully completed SVMH Pharmacology test.
