About The Position

Organization: MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical Center Position Overview: Accountable for the assessment, coordination delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • 2 years' experience in acute clinical care and preferably working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Knowledge of the pathophysiology, common treatments, medications, complications and prevention strategies for area of clinical practice
  • Knowledge of QSEN Competencies: Quality and Patient Safety Education core nursing competencies
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing process and/or surgical procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote effective with patient/families and staff interactions
  • Able to navigate electronic health record (EHR) and successfully complete competency
  • Intravenous treatments, wound care and medication administration skills at competent level
