About The Position

Accountable for the assessment, coordination delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited school of nursing Required.
  • Minimum one year clinical acute psychiatric experience Required.
  • Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN Required
  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population
  • Ability to read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership abilities
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Completion of a hospital approved course on the management of assaultive behavior within three months of employment with an annual recertification.
  • Completion of a mental health services approved training program on suicide assessment within one month of employment with an annual recertification.
