About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50%- 100% Staff Nurse to work at the Hemodialysis Inpatient Unit. Duties to include: Providing hemodialysis and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy to patients with acute kidney disease. Responsible for direct patient care in the renal replacement suite Provide appropriate treatment for assigned patients as developed by the interdisciplinary team. Deliver safe and effective care to adult acute renal patients using critical thinking and collaboration. Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record. Requirements

  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
  • General computer skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
  • Previous RN Dialysis and IV cannulation experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures is desired.
  • 1 year recent medical/surgical RN experience
