About The Position

The Staff Nurse position involves a range of responsibilities centered around patient care and nursing practices. The nurse will assess the needs of patients based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data. They will provide appropriate age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice. The role emphasizes fostering an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors. The nurse will utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff, and will adhere to standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators. Additionally, the nurse will contribute to the overall performance of the department by precepting and mentoring novice employees, and by participating in hospital-system initiatives that promote Evidence Based Practices. Continued professional growth is expected through goal setting and participation in educational offerings. The nurse may also float to assist in other like units as needed and will perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Advanced resuscitative certification appropriate to population if serving in a charge nurse role.
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification.
