About The Position

The Staff Nurse - Cardiology position at Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu, Hawaii, involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License in Hawaii.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • For Oncology Unit: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate to be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in adaptability, decision making, customer service, and teamwork.
  • One year of experience in specialty areas or completion of a formal course in the area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with electronic medical records.
  • Coursework in basic EKG.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care and services to patients and families.
  • Directs licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistive personnel.
  • Delegates nursing care according to legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilizes nursing process to deliver care effectively.
  • Administers medications and may perform IV placements with local anesthetic.
  • Teaches LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special nursing tasks.
  • Verifies staff competency for special nursing tasks.
  • Functions as the primary nurse and total patient caregiver.
  • Acts as a resource nurse and preceptor for new staff.
  • Performs administrative duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
