About the position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for direct and indirect nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning, and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort of patients. This role involves functioning as a health care team leader, ensuring the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal-oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will also guide patient teaching and the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and health maintenance to patients.
  • Lead the health care team in delivering patient-centered care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Direct and guide patient teaching and ancillary personnel activities.
  • Coordinate the delivery of nursing care to multiple patients.
  • Ensure compliance with unit-specific scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN License in Massachusetts.
  • 3 years of Med-Surg experience in an acute setting.
  • Extensive wound care experience.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Wound Care Certification preferred within 2 years of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current or recent intensive and comprehensive wound care experience.
