We are seeking individuals passionate about tackling challenges and are driven by execution. Ready to come find your playground? Together, we can help shape the endless possibilities of AI. We are looking for a senior network engineer to help design, secure, operate, and scale the network foundation that powers d-Matrix across offices, labs, cloud environments, development environments, and global teams. As we evolve from a fast-moving startup into a modern enterprise, this role will be critical in driving the evolution of our network into a secure, automated, high-performance environment that supports engineering velocity, product development, manufacturing partnerships, and company operations. You will enhance reliability, reduce manual operations, harden security posture, and implement best practices. This role is hands-on and highly technical, with direct ownership of network architecture, monitoring, automation, and incident response.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7–10+ years of hands-on network engineering and operations experience in corporate, enterprise, or mixed environments.
  • Deep expertise with switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, site-to-site connectivity, QoS, and related network fundamentals.
  • Strong experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Cloudflare, Zscaler, or similar enterprise networking stacks.
  • Hands-on firewall administration with a strong understanding of modern security practices (e.g., least privilege, segmentation, threat prevention, and TLS inspection).
  • Experience building automated workflows using Ansible, Python, REST APIs, or NETCONF.
  • Strong understanding of network monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, etc.).
  • Experience implementing zero-trust networking concepts, identity-aware access, or SASE solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-layer problems (DNS, DHCP, routing, ACLs, performance issues, wireless).
  • Ability to diagnose issues across systems, networks, and applications.
  • Self-motivated team player

Nice To Haves

  • Data center operations, support, and scalability.
  • Experience supporting engineering lab networks, HPC clusters, or ML development environments.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Transit Gateways, DirectConnect, peering, hybrid networks).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code or GitOps-style processes applied to network management.
  • Strong experience with security compliance requirements (CIS benchmarks, SOC2, NIST, etc.).
  • Prior startup or small-team experience where wearing multiple hats is common.
  • Network certifications (CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, PCNSE, etc.) are a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the evolution of the existing global networking environment to maintain secure, scalable network infrastructure across offices, labs, partners, data centers, customer development, and cloud environments.
  • Enhance network security through efforts including, but not limited to, segmentation, firewall policy improvements, identity-driven access controls, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Automate network configuration, monitoring, compliance checks, and change management using modern automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, etc.).
  • Maintain and optimize switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and WAN connectivity.
  • Implement best-in-class monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect security and operational issues such as intrusions, break-ins/compromised entryways, data issues, and connectivity bottlenecks.
  • Partner with IT and DevOps and Security to build a unified, automated infrastructure foundation with consistent best practices, security, and policy enforcement.
  • Lead or contribute to network-related incident response, troubleshooting, and post-mortems.
  • Take a technical leadership role in architecting and implementing global infrastructure scaling for new office/lab expansions, production-like test environments, customer support, and data center environments.
  • Develop and enforce network standards, documentation, runbooks, and operational SOPs.
  • Evaluate new networking and security-focused technologies and solutions as d-Matrix expands and matures into a global enterprise environment.
