About The Position

Sutter Medical Foundation (SMF) is seeking a full-time staff physicist to provide treatment planning support in the Sacramento Valley. The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible and will work with advanced treatment planning systems and collaborate with a team of dosimetrists, physicists, and radiation oncologists. The role emphasizes excellence in plan quality and offers opportunities in various areas including Physics QA and HDR.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Radiological Physics or related field.
• Certification from AMBP or ABR upon hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical physics experience.
• Competency in clinical dosimetry and treatment planning.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply advanced math and physics principles for problem-solving.
• Active participation in professional societies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HDR and 3D printing technologies.
• Familiarity with Epic and Elekta Mosaiq systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment planning support utilizing Philips Pinnacle v16.4.3, Mosaiq, MIM, and Radcalc.
• Collaborate with dosimetrists, physicists, and radiation oncologists to ensure high-quality treatment plans.
• Participate in Physics QA and contribute to automation and class solutions.
• Engage in ongoing projects including linac replacements and automated plan checking.
• Maintain a robust Quality/Safety culture within the department.
