Responsibilities

  • Interface controls and sensors to PLC and HMI software.
  • Implement robust control algorithms for a manufacturing environment.
  • Generate structured, well documented, and robust PLC and HMI code meeting project objectives.
  • Assist with equipment troubleshooting.
  • Lead, motivate others, and/or contribute to a team-work environment.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Work with multi-disciplined teams including R D and Engineering.

Requirements

  • PLC programming, especially Mitsubishi PLC and Siemens Step7 HMI programming such as Delphi or LabVIEW.
  • Experience with digital controls, PID, motion control, oscilloscope, lock-in, sensors, etc.
  • Industrial networking (Profibus, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and P&IDs.
  • Strong time management.
  • Ability to work effectively with R D, Operations, Maintenance, and Contractors.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with effective solutions.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

Nice-to-haves

  • MATLAB, Python or equivalent rapid-scripting languages.
  • Experience with database construction and SQL queries.
  • Motor drive configuration and startup.
  • Wonderware interfacing.
  • Draw electrical schematics, for example using AutoCAD or Promis-E.
  • Windows PC, Linux administration.
  • Action oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Learn quickly, committed to continuous self-improvement.
