Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have. Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer supports commercial scale production and process optimization. This role assists multiple teams across all business units with continuous improvement projects across internal and external material movement, manufacturing processing lines, business processes, and synergistic leveraging across company functions to reduce operating expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial, systems, etc).
  • 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience: demonstrated capability and successful implementation of improvement projects.
  • Prior experience developing business cases (eg: automation, operating plans, equipment, etc).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office, 2D CAD, any linear programming software, discrete event simulation software.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in operations research (examples: linear programming, discrete event simulation, etc).
  • Prior experience with industrial scale processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
  • Conduct and audit time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new systems and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of production systems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
