Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for a Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located in Saint Augustine, FL. Due to the nature of this role, this position requires an on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely. Manufacturing Process Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives. We seek Manufacturing Process Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing organization. They help make the industry's most complex manufacturing processes predictable and repeatable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of related engineering experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or production manufacturing OR Master's Degree with 10 years of related engineering experience in electrical, mechanical, coatings, and/or production manufacturing.
  • Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires.
  • Demonstrated experience to formulate and execute technical solutions to part, assembly, and tooling challenges.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and 3-D models.
  • Experience with developing enhancement processes that improve production shop floor efficiencies.
  • Experience with reviewing engineering models during concept design phase to correlate the manufacturing desired final engineering model.
  • Experience in creating Process Work Instructions.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Degree.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Machining/Fabrication Processes.
  • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment.
  • Demonstrated Project Management Experience.
  • Composite experience and process knowledge.
  • Experience with developing enhancement processes that improve production shop floor efficiencies.
  • Active Secret DoD/ In Scope Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to identify process and tooling requirements to support current and new production.
  • Generate and maintain/revise Manufacturing Engineering Process Specifications.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing processes and specialty tooling to improve efficiency, quality, and ergonomics in production operations.
  • Provide technical assistance to production personnel to troubleshoot process and tool related problems.
  • Identify, specify, and analyze usage of production perishables and consumables.
  • Investigate, design, and provide solutions to support nonconformance repair procedures.
  • Research, develop, and provide process and tooling training as required.
  • Support site safety initiatives related to standard tooling and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors.
  • Support/Lead process standdowns with manufacturing.
