Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will work with a talented team of engineers and assembly technicians to deliver NPI Projects, process creation, process improvements, and business integrations across all aspects of our DePuy Synthes markets. Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in a broad range of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions regarding engineering problems and methods, and represents the business to solve problems and to plan and coordinate work.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
6-10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering.
Leadership qualities including confidence, transparency, integrity, innovation, passion, patience, and tenacity.
Strong organizational and project management skills and is results-oriented.
Positive interpersonal skills and professional interactions with coworkers.
Troubleshooting skills.
Ability to deliver oral and written communications around process improvement projects.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Mini-tab, and Visio.
Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field.
Knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures.
Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public.
Excellent communication and interaction skills, especially when describing technical concepts to surgeons, sales personnel, and senior management.
Maintains a high level of professionalism in communication, both with local and international peers.
Must be able to work independently, provide multiple solutions to problems, and make systems work together.

Nice To Haves

Master of Science Degree from an accredited institution in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related degree, preferred.
Previous experience working in a regulated industry, such as the medical device industry.
Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification or 6 years of experience.
An organized, analytical approach to problem solving is also essential.
Some familiarity with FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements.

Directs the preparation of milestone charts, manpower and material estimate inputs, and related material needed to define program schedules.

Uses engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering problems.
Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other worldwide organizations and companies.

Recommends facilities, personnel, and funds required to carry out programs that are directly related to and directed toward fulfillment of overall organizational objectives.
