The Staff IT Engineer for End User Computing (EUC) & Manufacturing/Lab IT will serve a critical role within our global organization. This position is based in our San Diego office and reports directly to the Senior IT Manager of GIS End User Computing & Manufacturing/Lab IT. In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of IT functions, including system design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and the implementation of repairs, upgrades and modification. You will also diagnose and resolve technical issues to maintain optimal system performance. Additionally, you will oversee enterprise infrastructure platforms to identify performance concerns and ensure system integrity. Your responsibilities will include leading the planning and execution of business challenges analyses, leveraging automated system solutions to drive operational efficiency. You will provide advanced engineering support and administration for managed endpoint platforms and services, including Intune, SCCM, and Jamf. This role also includes supporting endpoint provisioning and lifecycle management across manufacturing and lab environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing and maintaining automated deployment pipelines that ensure consistent configuration, security compliance and operational efficiency across diverse enterprise and specialized IT settings. This position plays a vital role within the Global IT End User Computing team, contributing to the shared responsibility for maintaining system availability and ensuring optimal performance across enterprise environments - including support for manufacturing and Lab IT operations.

  • Configure and manage Intune features such as Configuration Profiles, Compliance Policies, and BitLocker encryption.
  • Deploy and manage applications across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
  • Coordinate and execute the installation of client and department specific applications and systems.
  • Create, manage, and maintain software deployment packages and operating systems.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate endpoint provisioning, system configurations, and routine tasks.
  • Design and build deployment pipelines for efficient and scalable endpoint management.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex end-user endpoint issues within an enterprise environment, especially after initial triage by other teams.
  • Manage projects with accountability for timelines, milestones, resources, budgets and documentation.
  • Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation to support global operations.
  • Partner with IT and business project teams, including GIS End User Services, and Information Security.
  • Train and mentor team members.
  • Collaborate on global security initiatives with cross-functional teams.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities to support compliance, performance monitoring and operational insights.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant IT experience in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience managing SCCM and Microsoft Intune for endpoint provisioning, compliance and application deployment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Active Directory and Azure, including OS provisioning, software packaging, image management, GPOs and configuration profiles.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration and support.
  • Extensive knowledge of developing and managing desktop operating systems (Windows and macOS).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash for automation and system configuration.
  • Working knowledge of Jamf for Apple device management.
  • Familiarity with AWS Workspaces, Microsoft Azure Services, Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • Understanding of AWS infrastructure and services for cloud native endpoint environments.
  • Articulate and persuasive oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating efficiently across teams.
  • Experience working with Service Now and its integration points for asset tracking and incident management.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with strong focus on customer service.
