About The Position

BCM One is hiring a Staff Indirect Tax Accountant to join our Regulatory Tax Compliance team. This role supports high-volume, deadline-driven indirect tax operations across multiple legal entities and works closely with senior tax leadership on monthly reconciliations, remittances, and audit support. This is an opportunity designed for an early- to mid-career accountant who wants deep exposure to indirect tax, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-scale accounting processes. Over time, this role offers increased ownership, external partner interaction, and audit-facing responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (audit, indirect tax, or SALT experience strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of GAAP (accruals, reconciliations, close processes)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, analysis, reporting)
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume, compliance-driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with indirect tax, regulatory tax, or SALT
  • Exposure to telecom, technology, payments, or other highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with tax calculation tools such as Avalara or SureTax
  • Experience working with external audit firms

Responsibilities

  • Support indirect tax compliance activities across assigned entities, including reconciliations, remittances, and journal entries.
  • Work closely with Tax Managers on monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Compile, review, and analyze tax-related reports and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with state and local tax filings in coordination with external partners (e.g., KPMG).
  • Support external audits (Ernst & Young), including preparing reconciliations and audit documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, and other internal teams on a recurring basis.
  • Learn and navigate multiple accounting and tax systems used across the organization.
  • Proactively flag issues, discrepancies, or deadline risks to leadership.
  • This role is primarily internally focused initially, with the opportunity to engage more directly with external partners and agencies as experience grows.
