Commonly used software includes FEFLOW, AQTESOLV, ArcGIS/QGIS, AutoCAD, Surfer, and Microsoft Excel, with programming languages like Python, C++, and Fortran also utilized.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, or related discipline
0-4 years' of experience
Course work/experience using AutoCAD, ArcGIS, FEFLOW, MODFLOW
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to travel for field work
Computer literacy, experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

Compilation, reduction, and analysis of hydrogeologic, geologic, and geotechnical data in support of advanced modeling work using spreadsheets, databases, GIS, and other relevant software and tools
Support senior staff in building conceptual and numerical hydrogeologic models
Assist with calibration and coupling of geotechnical and hydrogeologic models
Preparation of CAD drawings and geologic wireframes
Authoring written summaries detailing work conducted
Assisting with preparation of proposals and reports
Conduct well/aquifer testing using a variety of methods
Installation of fully grouted piezometers
Installation of open standpipe piezometers
