We are looking for a first-rate HPC engineer to join KLA's Broadband Plasma (BBP) Image Computing team. As a staff HPC Product Development Engineer on that team, you will play a key role in designing, optimizing and supporting a cutting-edge Linux HPC infrastructure that is embedded to the world's premier Wafer Inspection tools to execute image processing algorithms in real time.

  • Come up with innovative technologies to optimize cost and computation time.
  • Collaborate with peers to design, optimize the embedded HPC cluster.
  • Work with multiple stake holders to drive hardware / OS stack qualification.
  • Project-manage the development effort.
  • Develop engineering documentation.
  • Support L4 escalations. Domestic and international travel is required
  • Strong Linux administration skills
  • Proven Linux kernel module development experience
  • Proven experience with designing and supporting a 100+ node cluster in an enterprise or research computing environment
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture
  • Proven experience with Configuration Management tools, such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet and Chef
  • Experience with automation and CI/CD
  • Experience with Nvidia GPU compute
  • Good network administration skills, and experience with InfiniBand or RoCE
  • Experience with containers, such as Docker, Podman, and Singularity/Apptainer
  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++ and Shell programming
  • Strong performance optimization skills
  • Proven expertise in parallel storage, such as Lustre, BeeGFS, Ceph, etc.
  • Proven expertise in distributed computing and parallel computing
