RRC is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to support RRCs projects throughout the United States. This position is based in RRCs Round Rock, Texas office. Requirements

  • A good understanding of soil mechanics, geology, and/or geophysical surveys.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical engineering. Masters degree is preferred.
  • Willing to work in outdoor conditions and travel to various project locations throughout the United States. Please note that extensive travel (75%) to the ongoing RRC Project sites, located throughout the United States will be required during the first two years.
  • Proficiency with MS Office computer programs.
  • Willing to relocate to RRC's Round Rock, TX Office.
  • Valid driver license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with gINT, GIS mapping programs, Slope/W, and LPile software is plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigation programs and geophysical surveys for RRCs projects under specific work instructions as provided by project managers, including geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual field reconnaissance, and soil and rock logging, and geophysical surveys. This also includes communication and interaction with drilling contractors and clients.
  • Observation and documentation of geotechnical construction activities and perform construction material testing/inspection during construction phases.
  • Under the supervision of RRCs senior geotechnical staff, perform geotechnical engineering tasks including review of soil and bedrock samples, review in-situ and laboratory test results, shallow and deep foundation design calculations, settlement calculations, slope stability and other conventional geotechnical engineering calculations.
  • Perform other engineering activities as required.
