About the position

Hidden Level is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead teams in developing software products focused on Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM). This role involves solving complex problems and requires a strong background in software development, particularly with radars and sensor technology. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that facilitate the safe integration of drones into various sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and oversee the lifecycle of software products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features.
• Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to engineering teams, providing guidance on architecture, coding standards, and development methodologies.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle to protect data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead initiatives to improve development processes, tools, and infrastructure, promoting automation and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with strong programming background.
• 10+ years of related professional experience; Master's degree is a plus.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in developing for Linux-based operating systems, Ubuntu a plus.
• Expertise in C++ and Python application development.
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience working with sensor devices and building scalable IoT architectures is a plus.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Proven track record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Experience with mobile app development.
