Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O Degree
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency program
  • State of Florida Medical Licensure
  • DEA Certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly participates and engages in educational and scholarly activities associated with the training program, including passing of examinations, actively participating in seminars and other scholarly activities, attending required meetings, etc.
  • Performs consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
  • Provides safe, effective, and compassionate patient care under supervision.
  • Demonstrates own knowledge base and uses resources for clinical problem-solving, but also knows when to make proper use of the available supervisory and support systems.
  • Analyzes own practice for needed improvement and seeks advice and input when necessary.
  • Finds and uses evidence from scientific studies and clinical guidelines.
  • Uses systematic approaches to improve patient care and reduce errors.
  • Provides the highest standard of patient care and completes the associated medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Contributes to the working environment of the department by maintaining a professional atmosphere.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
