About The Position

We are hiring for an experienced Staff Environmental Scientist to join our at Pennoni on a full-time, direct basis and contribute to land development projects while based out of our office in the Haddon Heights, NJ area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, or environmental science or a related field of study.
  • 4-8 years in consulting with experience with NJDEP Site Remediation Program from due diligence through remedial action.
  • Experience in responsibilities listed above, focusing on demonstrated ability in technical writing, attention to detail, and understanding of applicable regulations.
  • Has understanding and experience with NJDEP technical requirements for site remediation, remedial report preparation, NJDEP SRRA form preparation, permit applications, etc. ASTM Standards, and due diligence reporting.
  • Must be familiar with SI / RI concepts to direct field operations in coordination with the LSRP.
  • Experience in preparing documents such as Phase I and II ESAs, PAs, SIRs, RIRs, RAWs, & RARs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required; knowledge of computer-based CADD or GIS a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher required.
  • Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills are a must, as well as the ability to thrive in a professional and team-oriented work environment.
  • This person will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Remedial Documents for NJDEP Site Remediation Program cases and Phase I / II Environmental Due Diligence Reports in accordance with regulatory standards and technical guidance.
  • Manage field sampling activities in accordance with existing contracts and regulatory requirements in coordination with LSRP, and/or oversee and mentor junior staff conducting field sampling activities.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers, Scientists, Planners, and other professionals to assemble regulatory-compliant environmental plans & reports.
  • Must be able to work with a small team and operate independently with the LSRP when needed.
  • Work within scope, schedule, budgets and utilization goals.
  • Project management, proposal preparation, budget preparation, QAQC, and mentorship may apply depending on the applicants experience and goals.
