At CESO, a Civil Staff Engineer is responsible for organizing tasks for civil engineering projects. One of their main responsibilities includes performing civil engineering work based on project requirements. They use their technical knowledge to actively participate in internal project meetings as well as make recommendations based on research, observations, and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 0-2 years of professional experience (internship experience is applicable)
  • Passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of senior team members, perform basic site design work on site plans and construction drawings to include site layout, grading, stormwater, roadway, and utility layouts using Civil 3D
  • Research of design criteria based on project scope and jurisdictional requirements
  • Perform site design calculations and analysis based on researched codes and regulations to apply it to assigned tasks
  • Provide thorough and accurate documentation of calculations
  • Compare design options and document findings to produce detailed civil engineering studies and reports
  • Review technical and civil engineering drawing markups and make revisions accordingly
  • Other project duties as assigned
