About The Position

As an Engineer for the Transmission Asset Management & Engineering Services group at Oncor, you will be responsible for the creation/modification of material specifications and engineering/construction standards, and providing technical support in areas related to asset management and the reliability of the Oncor Transmission system. This position supports technology demonstration projects, provides engineering support to regulatory and legal organizations on an as-needed basis, and participates in industry organizations.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Staff Engineer - All of the duties described above except as modified below: At least four (4) years of relevant engineering experience is required. High level of knowledge in at least one applicable subject matter.
  • Senior Engineer - All of the duties described above except as modified below: At least six (6) years of relevant engineering experience is required. High level of knowledge in multiple applicable subject matters.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and communicates new/updated standards, specifications and guidelines to key stakeholders.
  • Leads teams to gather requirements, establish cross-functional processes and ensure proper implementation of various initiatives.
  • Researches and evaluates new materials, products and applications.
  • Provides administrative and technical support in areas including root cause analysis of equipment failure and reliability reporting.
  • Provides support for the Line Clearance Review Program.
  • Participates in engineering standard organizations and other industry-specific organizations.
  • Provides legal and regulatory support as needed.
  • Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
