Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Flight Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. The position will be 100% on-site at Edwards AFB, CA.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM Degree).
  • A minimum of 12 years of related experience with a BS Degree or 10 Years with MS Degree or 9 years with a Ph.D. in STEM.
  • Current Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to start is required.
  • Required to obtain Mission Control Room qualification and maintain currency with customer provided training requirements.
  • In depth knowledge of or test experience, to include control room monitoring.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • Experience in software/system integration, and software/system testing.
  • Experience with test, test equipment use and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with systems test and integration.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarization or experience with Confluence and JIRA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS).
  • FAA rated pilot (private/commercial), or other experience as a crewmember.
  • Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
  • Coordinates integrated testing activities.
  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
  • Develops and publishes Integrated Test Plans, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing.
  • Provides laboratory support for integration testing.
  • Supports and hosts test planning working groups.
  • Interfaces with test article design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements.
  • Supports test card development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel.
  • Supports test readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings.
  • Provides mission control room support and makes real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Conducts and contributes to pre and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution.
  • Maintains metrics on status of testing and constraints.
