About The Position

As a Staff Engineer – Supplier Quality you will make a direct impact on product performance and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will lead supplier quality initiatives, drive improvements across a diverse supply base, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of reliability. You will partner with suppliers, purchasing, engineering, and operations to solve problems, improve processes, and enhance quality. Travel to manufacturing and supplier sites is required.

Requirements

  • Advance knowledge and application of GD&T
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Functional understanding of home generator and supporting products
  • Minimum 8 years of supplier quality engineering or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Self-driven, organized, independent, and able to work with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry knowledge of home generators (preferred)
  • Experience working with international supply base (preferred)
  • Experience with advanced problem-solving techniques (preferred)
  • Experience in SAP, Power BI, Windchill, and SPC (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical expertise in assigned commodities related to design and manufacturing.
  • Lead print and design for manufacturing reviews with suppliers
  • Provide input to engineering and purchasing to optimize, design, cost, and quality of products
  • Review and approve supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
  • Define quality expectations for suppliers and implement action plans to achieve targets.
  • Mitigate quality risks through safe launch and error-proofing strategies
  • Lead SCAR resolution using structed problem solving strategies.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and qualification activities and close out findings.
  • Collaborate with purchasing for supplier selection and sourcing strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support NPD, CPD, VAVE, and material cost down projects
  • Support manufacturing issues and concerns related to supplied components
  • Identify and implement process and procedure improvements
  • Support vendor recovery initiatives
