Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Staff Software Engineer join our Global Surveillance Division team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

  • Support DevOps needs for the software teams.
  • Work with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and architecting complex solutions.
  • Support the development of automated testing solutions for the display.
  • Deploy, automate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the systems and software infrastructure.
  • Participate in the full life cycle of software development, including requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.
  • Lead a team of DevOps engineers in support of a large program.
  • Lead the adoption of software factory standard and deployment of software factory reference implementations.
  • Provide leadership to the software engineering staff and mentor them.
  • Develop and execute roadmaps, plans, and schedules.
  • Gather and report software metrics.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 12 or more years software engineering experience, or Master's degree and 10 or more years' software engineering experience or a PhD with 8 or more years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience in defining and implementing DevSecOps lifecycle - continuous (build, integration, test, deployment, cyber, monitoring).
  • Experience configuring RedHat Linux and Microsoft Windows within a secure environment.
  • Experience with build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant, cmake) and/or continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo).
  • Experience with one of the following configuration management systems: GIT, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools or Fuzzing Tools such as: Coverity, Fortify, CodeDx AND/OR SonarQube.
  • In-depth working knowledge and experience with developing software and scripts on various programming languages: C, C++, Python, PowerShell, Bash, YAML.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiar with one of the following metric tools: Tableau, Grafana.
  • Experience with REST API frameworks (i.e. Atlassian, GitLab).
  • Experience with Code Coverage or Unit Testing Applications (e.g. LDRA, Bullseye, Valgrind).
  • Active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with program PAR.
