About The Position

Under the functional guidance of Engineering Manager, the Staff Engineer will manage and execute the development of new faucet and sanitary products and the adaptation and redesign of existing products for introduction into various markets.

Requirements

  • Strong analysis of design interfaces through Tolerance Stack Analysis to guarantee design intend.
  • Moderate use of CREO CAD Software to model and inspect 3D files, elaborate Assemblies and 2D Drawings through the use of ASME Y14.5M for GD&T.
  • Strong mechanical design fundamentals for Manufacturing processes such as Injection Molding, Casting, Machining as well as applied finished such as PVD and Platting.
  • Strong understanding of the material science in applications for Metal/Mechanics, Plastics and Elastomers.
  • Very strong on design for variability applications, such as DFSS, Process Capability (CPK), etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and executes complex engineering projects involving development of new products and changes to existing products including specifications, concept, design, qualification, and verification of products and sub-assemblies.
  • Creates and maintains products specifications to meet Kohler and regulatory requirements.
  • Applies standard engineering tools such as CAD (CREO), Bill of materials (SAP), GD&T, DFMEA and FEA. Mentors' others in the application of these tools.
  • Uses engineering tools to ensure robust design of products that meet market needs, cost, targets, margin goals, code requirements.
  • Coordinates engineering activities with other functional areas, remote plants, suppliers, and contractors. Actively and effectively supports local plant activities.
  • Manages assigned engineers, CAD designers, and support staff which may include test lab technician, prototype technicians, and other engineering services support staff (e.g, packaging engineering, technical communications).
