About The Position

Western Alliance Bank is seeking a passionate, highly responsible and knowledgeable Production Support Engineer to support innovative, industry leading solutions. We want a creative, highly motivated Support Engineer who can take initiative, have good sense of urgency and is comfortable working in a fast paced, agile environment. This position is ONSITE ONLY and you must live in or within a commutable distance from Phoenix, AZ, Columbus, OH, or Irving, TX.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience IT App Support, IT Development, IT Networking, or similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services and infrastructure.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and platforms like Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
  • Understanding of security best practices in the cloud.
  • Experience with incident management and root cause analysis. Working experience with ServiceNow strongly desired.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to batch jobs, scheduling, and system performance, including coordinating with application teams and other support groups.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies and deliver results in a business-critical production environment.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Works both independently and as part of a cohesive team to support innovative software solutions (custom and onsite vendor solutions).
  • Responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and security of production and non-production environments within the Azure cloud.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, outages, and performance issues in production environments.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to identify the root causes of incidents and implement preventative actions.
  • Where needed, leverage scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for analysis, task automation, etc.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring tools to proactively detect issues and ensure the health and performance of production systems.
  • Collaborate with development, engineering, and operations teams to improve application performance, scalability, and stability.
  • Maintain documentation for runbooks, processes, configurations, and system architectures.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize support processes and overall system performance.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of batch processes and applications within a production environment using orchestration tools such as Control-M, Azure Data Factory, etc.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of data transfers, ensuring the timely exchange of files.
  • Follow relevant company procedures and help create and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of pre-packaged software applications in production and non-production environments, including managing patches and upgrades.
  • Oversee and manage the process of releasing software to production, ensuring it's done efficiently, effectively, and with minimal disruption.
