About The Position

We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join our Integrations team. You’ll own and evolve backend services and APIs, extend our integrations platform, and help strengthen our secure data infrastructure as we scale. You’ll need strong Python skills, architectural thinking, and the ability to work across domains. You’ll improve existing patterns and establish new ones as the team grows, collaborating closely with other engineering teams to define standards for reliability, security, and maintainability.

Requirements

Experience building and maintaining backend platform infrastructure.
Solid AWS knowledge.
Familiar with encryption and secure data handling.
Track record building clean, scalable architecture.
Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
Proficiency in Python.
Experience building integrations with external systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and mentoring skills.
Comfort using AI-assisted developer tools to augment developer workflows.

Nice To Haves

Experience with FastAPI and async Python.
Experience working in high-security environments.
Background in platform identity or IAM engineering.
Hands-on with commercial identity providers (Auth0, Okta, FusionAuth, etc).
Experience using AI tooling to augment developer workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend services.
Improve and extend our integration architecture as the team scales.
Help maintain and strengthen secure data infrastructure, including data encryption, secrets management, and auditability.
Contribute to authorization systems for our multi-tenant platform, including tenant isolation and least-privilege access controls.
Architect and maintain scalable, secure, and clean backend systems.
Mentor and guide engineers.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise.
