About The Position

MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE Company: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC. Position Title: Staff Engineer I, Machine Learning Software Location: Mountain View, California Job ID: SAM9787583 Position Responsibilities: Lead and deliver production-grade machine learning software products from end-to-end to ensure that Samsung Ads is a key player in the mobile ads market. Design, develop and deploy state-of-the-art and scalable machine learning models to achieve different optimization goals, such as ads click Predict Click-Through Rate (pCTR), app-install optimization, Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) optimization, and retention. Research the latest machine learning technologies with industry trends, create prototypes of new machine learning solutions quickly, and deploy the solution into production. Analyze complex problems with massive advertising data, identify gaps, and propose and execute technical proposals. Leverage prior experience working with machine learning libraries, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Spark ML, as well as big data tools, including MapReduce, Spark, Flink, and Kafka. Work closely with different internal teams to improve Samsung’s codebase and product health. Work with cross-functional partner teams in global settings to deliver new machine learning features and solutions and achieve business objectives. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Position Requirements: PhD or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, or another related occupation. Employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and seven years of experience in the job offered or another related occupation as equivalent to the PhD and five years of experience. Must have five years of experience in the following skills: (1) working on machine learning or data mining related projects to achieve optimization goals; and (2) programming in Python, Go, or other related Object-Oriented Programming language. Must have two years of experience in the following skills: (3) working with machine learning libraries, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Spark ML; and (4) working with big data tools, including MapReduce, Spark, Flink, and Kafka. Must have one year of experience in the following skills: (5) working on production-grade machine learning solutions in the mobile ads industry; and (6) providing technical leadership for all aspects of the design and development of production-grade software or systems. Partial telecommuting permitted; employees will be required to report to office multiple days per week. Hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week. Salary Range: $264,514/year to $283,000/year #LI-DNI

Requirements
