The Team you will be joining: HQR Our team is charged with maintaining and improving the software at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that supports the Hospital Quality Reporting program. Thousands of hospitals across the country depend on these systems to submit quality measure data that reflects the care beneficiaries receive in their facility. Our teams will continuously strive to modernize these systems, while improving them in ways that reduce provider burden and minimize costs to CMS. We do this through HCD and Service design practices, product thinking, and skilled engineering. What you will be doing as a Staff Engineer: As the Staff Engineer/ Technical Lead for the Access & Submission (A&S) Team, you will spearhead a team of engineers, providing the guidance and technical oversight necessary to ensure the successful delivery of all project milestones You contribute meaningfully to the success of one or more projects or products, helping drive positive outcomes. You demonstrate proficiency and specialized skill in one or more key technologies relevant to the teamâs goals. You accurately scope, estimate, design, and deliver medium-to-large features while actively reducing technical debt across projects or products. You proactively support and collaborate with team members, fostering a positive and productive team environment. You adhere to established team processes, ensuring a steady and reliable delivery of features to production. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serve as Tech Lead for the A & S Team Use GoLang, Python, and Java experience to develop, deploy, and maintain backend applications Version control using Git and GitHubCI/CD processes using JenkinsFrontend development using, Angular, HTML, and TypeScript Database development using SQL (PostgreSQL) Cloud infrastructure with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform Agile project lifecycle approach to software development
