In this role, you'll be responsible for the strategy and design of Carta's enterprise technology, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals and business requirements. You'll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define architectural standards and evaluate new technologies, while acting as the bridge between high-level business strategy and the technical implementation of IT systems.

  • Define the long-term enterprise technology roadmap and vision, focusing on how emerging technologies, especially AI, can enhance productivity and innovation.
  • Evaluate existing systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend new technologies that support future business needs.
  • Design the structure of IT systems, networks, hardware, and software to ensure they are scalable, secure, and interoperable.
  • Own, establish and enforce a change advisory board and standards and governance policies for system development, including the ethical and secure use of AI and other emerging technologies.
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business terms for executives and communicating the business vision and requirements to developers and engineers.
  • Extensive experience in a similarly scoped role, having owned the design and strategy for an organization's enterprise technology.
  • Ability to articulate technical trade-offs, define long-term architectural roadmaps, and ensure technology choices align with business objectives.
  • Passionate about elevating technical talent and have a track record of mentoring and establishing best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with productivity and collaboration platforms (Google workspace, Zoom, Slack, Jira, etc.).
  • Some knowledge of AI systems and tools (Copilot, Gemini, Glean, etc.).
  • Previous experience with business operations systems (Salesforce, Netsuite, Workday, etc.) is appreciated but not required.
