As a Battery Engineer on the Battery Engineering team, you’ll be an integral part of the team working to usher in the next generation of consumer electronics devices. You’ll work across technical teams and with business partners to design experiments, analyze data, and create robust plans to meet our goals and support our consumer electronics customer programs. You’ll synthesize customer’s technical challenges and act as a bridge between customer’s technical team and Sila’s cross-functional battery team. You’re an experienced, hands-on, team-oriented engineer with a desire to help deploy the next generation of lithium-ion batteries in consumer electronics devices.

Requirements

  • Ability to carefully plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong technical background, experience with lithium-ion batteries is a MUST
  • Well-organized and data-driven approach to problem solving and experimental design, driven by curiosity and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using databases, and data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, etc.
  • Exceptional communication abilities with both internal groups and external customers; Mandarin language fluency is a plus
  • Direct experience working with customers
  • Understanding of lab safety best practices
  • At least a B.S. in engineering or science and 7+ years of experience in batteries or related field (fewer for candidates with an advanced degree)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience taking products out of the lab and into the market is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own technical success of multiple consumer electronics customer programs
  • Design, carry out, and analyze experiments to test the performance of cells made using Sila’s materials against customer’s requirements
  • Effectively communicate ideas, plans, and results externally to customers and internally across diverse Sila teams
  • Facilitate technical collaboration between groups at Sila and with external customers
  • Invest in our company values and vision and champion them as we grow
