We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer working hybrid between remote work and on site at the customer site in College Park, MD or Dahlgren, VA. This position may be staffed as a hybrid role from College Park, MD or Dahlgren, VA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience, master’s degree with 10 years of experience, Ph.D. with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A current active DoD Secret clearance.
  • 8 years of experience with Modern Software Engineering Practices (C++, Java, Python).
  • 8 years of experience with up-to-date software engineering practices, including containerization strategies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), microservices architecture, and DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Ability to design scalable, modular, and secure software solutions.
  • 5 years of experience developing and executing software development roadmaps that meet program objectives.

  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders, government representatives, product teams.
  • Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program success.
  • Problem solving and Innovation - demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges specifically for exportable systems and architecture.
  • Knowledge of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process including releasability requirements for software systems.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and compliance with export control regulations.
  • Experience with Agile development practices and the Atlassian tool set, Jenkins, and DevSecOps best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the next generation of surface combat management as part of the Software Factory - Forge program.
  • Design and architecture of software solutions with design for foreign military sales in mind.
  • Work with scalable, microservice architecture, COTS hardware, and container-based deployments.
  • Facilitate collaboration between hardware, software, and system security teams.
