Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and shipping embedded electronic products.
  • Deep knowledge of board-level digital design, signal integrity, power systems, and interface protocols (High speed signals like USB 3.0, PCIe, gig Ethernet, or similar preferred).
  • Proficient in schematic and layout tools (we use KiCad), and confident driving designs through layout, fab, assembly, and test.
  • Extensive experience in board bring-up, lab debugging, and design verification.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux SoCs, DDR layout, and compliance/EMC considerations.
  • Comfortable leading cross-functional design reviews and collaborating with remote teams.
  • Excellent written communication skills; experience authoring specs, design docs, and test plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work with high-speed interfaces (USB 3.x, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, etc.).
  • Experience with secure hardware design, anti-tamper features, and hardware root of trust.
  • Familiarity with FPGAs, especially Xilinx Zynq/ZynqMP platforms.
  • Exposure to compliance testing (EMI/ESD/thermal), including pre-cert practices.
  • Embedded firmware development in C or scripting (Python) for test/validation automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level architecture and electrical design of embedded hardware platforms.
  • Drive schematic capture and direct PCB layout strategy for complex digital, mixed-signal, and power systems.
  • Own bring-up and electrical validation across functional domains (digital logic, power, sensors, interfaces).
  • Collaborate across firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver tightly integrated, production-ready systems.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions on design and field issues.
  • Guide component selection, BOM optimization, and sourcing strategy in partnership with supply chain.
  • Author and enforce electrical design standards, review practices, and documentation templates.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and review design work across the team.
