About The Position

Tectonic is currently seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting solar, battery storage, and grid modernization projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level engineer to take ownership of exciting projects while developing technical and leadership skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions of this position include working collaboratively on solar and energy projects with engineers, designers, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • EIT and/or PE License preferred
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in electrical design and coordination, preferably within the power, manufacturing, or renewable energy space
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (2020 or newer), Revit, and electrical analysis tools (ETAP/EasyPower)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Site or field experience is a plus
  • Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing detailed electrical design, including one-line diagrams, grounding, lighting, and equipment layouts
  • Conducting power system studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop) using ETAP or EasyPower
  • Preparing equipment specifications, material requisitions, and reviewing vendor drawings
  • Coordinating design efforts with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure constructability and code compliance
  • Supporting field teams by reviewing site layouts, performing site visits, and providing technical guidance
  • Participating in 3D model reviews with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, schedules, and design records.
