About The Position

Tectonic is currently seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting solar, battery storage, and grid modernization projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level engineer to take ownership of exciting projects while developing technical and leadership skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions of this position include working collaboratively on solar and energy projects with engineers, designers, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
EIT and/or PE License preferred
Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in electrical design and coordination, preferably within the power, manufacturing, or renewable energy space
Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards
Proficiency with AutoCAD (2020 or newer), Revit, and electrical analysis tools (ETAP/EasyPower)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Site or field experience is a plus
Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites may be required.

EIT and/or PE License preferred

Responsibilities

Performing detailed electrical design, including one-line diagrams, grounding, lighting, and equipment layouts
Conducting power system studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop) using ETAP or EasyPower
Preparing equipment specifications, material requisitions, and reviewing vendor drawings
Coordinating design efforts with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure constructability and code compliance
Supporting field teams by reviewing site layouts, performing site visits, and providing technical guidance
Participating in 3D model reviews with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
Maintaining accurate project documentation, schedules, and design records.
