Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in new product development.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics.
  • Proven experience delivering hardware and firmware for consumer products.
  • Expertise in real‑time embedded firmware for microcontroller platforms (e.g., ARM).
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, ORCad, or similar).
  • Strong skills in embedded C, object‑oriented design, and bare‑metal development.
  • Deep understanding of EMC and PCB design rules for compliance (CE, FCC, UL).
  • Experience with design validation techniques (FMEA, DFMEA, DFM).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with failure analysis of consumer products.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics and signal processing.
  • Experience designing products with BLE, Wi‑Fi, MQTT, or Matter.
  • Familiarity with Zephyr or comparable RTOS ecosystems.
  • Exposure to machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Support Transformative Innovation projects from concept through completion, engineering highly innovative products.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Industrial Design, and cross‑functional teams to develop new technologies and solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Own electronics and firmware development for first‑to‑market consumer products, including requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, compliance testing, and deployment—primarily focused on control systems, sensing, and user interfaces.
  • Assess technical feasibility of new products and technologies; create requirements, risk mitigation strategies, test plans, schedule estimates, and cost analyses.
  • Partner with Kohler legal teams to identify, evaluate, generate, and protect intellectual property.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and stay informed on industry and technology trends.
  • Communicate technical recommendations clearly and concisely, providing well‑reasoned guidance to stakeholders.

  • The salary range for this position is $101,350 - $156,150.
  • In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
