We’re seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in precision analog and power electronics to join our Devices group and help design next‑generation electricity metering products. This role focuses on high‑accuracy measurement, robust hardware design, and close collaboration across engineering disciplines to deliver safe, reliable solutions for utility customers worldwide.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in analog and power electronics design, including AC‑to‑DC power supplies and related high‑reliability circuits.
  • Experience with high‑voltage or energy‑connected electronics and regulated products (e.g., utility, industrial, or safety‑critical systems).
  • Strong understanding of analog accuracy, noise, thermal effects, and long‑term stability, with a focus on delivering dependable field performance for customers.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment schematic capture, circuit simulation, and high‑voltage PCB layout best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accountably and independently while contributing to collaborative, cross‑functional teams in a dynamic, agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document designs, share results, and engage authentically with teammates and stakeholders across disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with utility metering, general metrology, precision instrumentation, or similar high‑accuracy measurement systems.
  • Exposure to regulatory specification, design, and validation (e.g., ANSI, UL, or equivalent standards relevant to energy and metering products).
  • Awareness of cost‑effective surge protection techniques and other protection strategies for field‑deployed energy systems.
  • Background working in a technology company supporting utilities, energy, or smart cities, with a customer‑centric mindset and familiarity with the challenges faced by utility customers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teamwork, knowledge‑sharing, and mentoring within diverse engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate precision analog and power circuitry for high‑voltage (up to 240 V) electricity metering applications, emphasizing accuracy, safety, and long‑term reliability.
  • Develop AC‑to‑DC power supplies, including magnetics, isolation, protection, and efficiency optimization.
  • Perform hands‑on prototype builds, debug, and characterization using lab and environmental test equipment.
  • Minimize RF emissions while optimizing cost.
  • Drive root‑cause analysis, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to manufacturing test and calibration strategies.
  • Collaborate with firmware, systems, mechanical, compliance, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews and mentor junior engineers, promoting strong engineering practices and an inclusive team culture.
