The Facilities Staff Electrical Engineer provides technical support to Site, EHSS, Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Construction groups. This role directs and coordinates electrical engineering and systems planning for new construction, building remodels, production line layouts, tool installations, utility needs assessment, space planning, code compliance, and permitting. Key responsibilities include mid to long-term infrastructure planning, capital budgeting, and facilities project execution. The position develops organizational policies for the facilities department and may establish and oversee health and safety standards. Responsibilities also include selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel while advising on schedules and technical issue resolution. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to electrical engineering, with equivalent experience considered (PE License preferred)
  • 10+ years leading engineering teams in the semiconductor manufacturing or analogous areas
  • Strong electrical engineering background
  • Proficient in MS Office and leading internal and external teams
  • Solid understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and commissioning
  • Proven leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, multitasking, and independent decision-making skills

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification
  • 5+ years as a facilities engineer within the semiconductor field or a related industry
  • 5+ years in electrical engineering design/management

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming power and site distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to address electrical supply and distribution.
  • Prevent and detect safety and environmental hazards.
  • Ensure legal and code compliance.
  • Support electrical codes and fuse coordination studies.
  • Build a positive team culture.
  • Ensure required electrical training is completed.
  • Provide vital resources to team members.
  • Implement preventative and corrective actions when gaps are identified.
  • Building on core responsibilities, focus on improving team and process efficiency.
  • Identify, lead, and supervise departmental critical metrics.
  • Be responsible for electrical planning, construction, remodels, code compliance, and daily operations for NY1 FAB and future builds.
  • Build working relationships with Department Managers and encourage teamwork.
  • Communicate company, department, and area policies to Site Facilities managers.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of standards, policies, and procedures for the installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance of Electrical plant support systems.
  • Develop and maintain cost, budget, and schedule estimates for contracts, equipment, materials, and labor.
  • Maintain efficient and adequate staffing levels.
  • Create a motivating environment that engages team members.
  • Conduct periodic talent reviews.
  • Promote a leader-led development culture.
  • Promote performance management and monitor system use.
  • Identify and fulfill learning and development opportunities.
  • Technical expertise in the group by supporting training.
  • Plan and coordinate facility electrical projects, including tool installs, base builds, and COs or equivalent experience.
  • Base build and tool install activity.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that drive benchmark culture.
  • Understand competition and marketplace strategies.
  • Create competitive and innovative approaches.
  • Foster innovative thinking and intelligent risk-taking using BKMs as guidelines.
  • Collaborate with global partners to align decisions.

  • Set monthly and quarterly budgets that support site goals.
  • Maintain efficient staffing for the organization and department.
  • Work with the scheduler to align electrical long lead equipment and field performance.
  • Improve cost efficiency through labor efficiency and feedback to the trades.
  • Develop department budget.
  • Balance resources to minimize costs.
  • Provide construction cost estimates to support or validate budgets.
  • Set quarterly quality goals that are consistent with site and corporate objectives.
  • Manage, measure, and monitor department quality.
  • Promote a quality-conscious culture.
  • Drive innovative solutions for quality improvement.
  • Analyze and improve business processes using the quality management system.
  • ILTs are maintained for your areas of difficulty.
