In this role you will have the opportunity to lead Electrical design for water/wastewater projects, provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff, serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems, support business development related to enhanced Electrical services, and build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Professional Engineer's license in IL or another US jurisdiction
  • 5-8 years in electrical design, planning and construction services
  • Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators
  • Understanding of PLC hardware and software setup, network configuration, HMI, SCADA system, instrumentation and fiber optic cabling
  • Experience in a client-facing/business development role
  • Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software a plus

  • Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead Electrical design for water/wastewater projects
  • Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in the regional design centers that are supporting project detailed design
  • Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations
  • Support business development related to enhanced Electrical services
  • Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers
  • Conduct studies such as Energy Optimization, Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, and Electrical Reliability Analysis
  • Perform construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues
  • Coordinate with local electrical utilities on project technical needs
  • Review supplier submittals
  • Act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams for Instrumentation and Control design
  • Oversee startup and testing of major electrical equipment
