About The Position

The primary function of the staff educator is to assist with the planning and provision of educational programs for the hospital staff.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed registered nurse in the state of PA.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Must hold both current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider Card and BLS Instructor card (or be eligible to become a BLS Instructor within 3 months of hire); must be willing to become an AHA Training Center Faculty.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of being in the position.
• Communication and organizational skills must be excellent; teaching experience with an interest in health education, nursing practice, competency, and orientation required.
• Experience in individual and group instruction required.
• Must collaborate and work well with other staff and contribute to a teamwork environment.
• Experienced in nursing assessment, supports current evidence-based nursing practice, and nursing shared governance.
• Maintains current evidence-based nursing practice and evidence-based teaching skills.
• Responsible for and maintains own nursing and educator professional development and practice.
• Able to interact with all hospital staff in a tactful and confidential way.
• Computer experience required including Microsoft Office such as WORD, PowerPoint, and Excel; able to schedule meetings and meeting rooms through Outlook.
