About The Position

At Overjet, Staff DevOps Engineers are technical leaders responsible for building and architecting the software, systems and automation infrastructure that powers our healthcare AI products. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering teams to drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and own critical systems that enable reliable, scalable delivery. You'll work at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and developer experience, serving as a trusted technical advisor across the organization while architecting and building solutions that impact all of engineering.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering, demonstrating increasing scope and impact.
  • Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including the architecture, deployment, and scaling of complex production systems.
  • DevOps Practices: Proven experience with observability, automation, performance engineering in cloud environments, and Continuous Integration and Delivery.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications, and strong knowledge of GitOps tools such as ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Crossplane and Terraform for managing infrastructure abstractions.
  • Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Programming: Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go).
  • Networking & Security: Experience with API Gateway and/or Service Mesh, implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO) for secure access control, and familiarity with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for fine-grained access management.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Work Environment: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical, and mission-focused environment.
  • Location: This position requires the candidate to be located in one of Overjet's designated geohubs: San Francisco/Bay Area, New York, or Boston.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, and developer-friendly systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop software and systems to enhance the overall developer experience.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify and implement solutions that improve product reliability, quality, and time-to-market.
  • Collaborate closely with the Security team to ensure system security and adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Lead complex technical initiatives and drive organizational improvements across various teams.
  • Provide mentorship to DevOps and Software Engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
  • Work with engineering leadership to establish technical direction and best practices for infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Uphold a high standard for the quality of system architecture and design, while maintaining simplicity.
  • Be available for periodic "on-call" duties during non-working hours, as planned and required by the team.
