About The Position

We're building a new team to own Radiant's internal data infrastructure, executive analytics, and AI capabilities. As the Staff DevOps Engineer, you'll own the infrastructure that powers our data platform—ensuring reliability, security, and scalability for the systems that connect Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Recruiting. You'll work closely with the Software Engineering team on shared Databricks infrastructure, ensuring that operational analytics and reactor simulation workloads coexist smoothly. You'll also own CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security compliance for our data systems.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience
  • AWS experience—EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, and related services (Radiant is AWS-based)
  • CI/CD pipeline development—GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar
  • Infrastructure as code—Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
  • Scripting and automation—Python, Bash, or similar

Nice To Haves

  • Databricks administration experience—workspaces, clusters, Unity Catalog, SQL Warehouses
  • Experience in regulated environments—SOC 2, FedRAMP, ITAR, or similar compliance frameworks
  • Experience with data pipeline monitoring and observability (Datadog, Monte Carlo, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar data integration tools
  • Experience supporting data engineering or analytics teams

Responsibilities

  • Own infrastructure: Deploy and manage Databricks, Fivetran, Airbyte, and supporting infrastructure on AWS
  • Administer Databricks: Manage workspaces, clusters, Unity Catalog, and SQL Warehouses (shared responsibility with SWE team)
  • Build CI/CD pipelines: Automate deployments for dbt models, connector configurations, and dashboard updates
  • Monitor and alert: Set up Datadog (or similar) for pipeline monitoring, data quality alerts, and infrastructure health
  • Ensure security compliance: Implement infrastructure that meets ITAR/EAR requirements; work with IT/Security on access controls, audit logging, and network configuration
  • Support the team: Enable Data Platform Engineers to ship quickly with reliable, well-documented infrastructure
