About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain accurate and organized documentation of employee training as well as development of professional quality training materials. This position will also schedule, coordinate and provide training and orientation for JFK ADATC employees in the areas of New Employee Orientation, Annual Mandatory Training, Just Culture, CPR, Restraint and Seclusion, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and other required trainings as assigned. This position requires utilization of various software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, the Cornerstone Learning Management System, and screenshot software in order to document training and develop high quality media materials such as presentations, training reports, video tutorials, and training certificates. In addition, the position will utilize various web-based programs including Web-Ex, Go-to-meeting, Quia, to facilitate and/or evaluate trainings for JFK staff. This position requires frequent and prolonged speaking to large groups in the training setting. Experience, comfort, and proficiency in public speaking is an essential part of this job function. The person in this position must be able to physically perform and demonstrate all elements of CPR, Restraint and Seclusion and CPI.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate and adapt training content to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying situations while using adult learning principles.
  • Strong knowledge of substance use treatment theories and evidence-based practices, particularly within mental health treatment settings.
  • Ability to physically perform and instruct all elements of CPR and Crisis Intervention, while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes staff confidence and engagement.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (preferably Cornerstone) and the ability to use the LMS/databases to track, report, and maintain accurate and compliant training records.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher) and other digital tools used to create presentations, reports, certificates, and multimedia training materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in a progressive training or teaching role or one year of experience in a human service, counseling, or training program in the subject matter specified; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
