About The Position

We are looking for dedicated Software and DevOps engineers to join our team in Austin. This role has significant impact in improving the engineering experience at Arm! Productivity Engineering supplies the tools and systems needed for creation of our software and hardware IP. Within this group, the Software & DevOps function provides DevOps tooling used across the company's engineering population, as well as focusing on the tooling needs of software engineers. As a Senior Engineer at Arm you will own technical deliveries, with responsibility from requirements through to planning, implementation, and delivery. At the heart of our approach is a genuine passion for improving the lives of other Engineers at Arm, and a complete focus on delivering solutions aligned to business outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience of Linux based infrastructure design, provisioning, and maintenance.
• A good knowledge of Cloud services. Experience of at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
• Common SDLC tools - such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab.
• Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
• Interpreted languages (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl) and compiled languages (e.g. Golang, C, C++, Java).

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment, with the associated focus on developer experience and productivity.
• A good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• An active interest in Open-Source Software.
• Building or integrating with Internal Developer Portals (Backstage/React/TypeScript).
• Experience of Microservice Software development.

Responsibilities

• Working hands-on with a variety of technologies, to provide a first-class engineering experience for Arm's hardware and software engineers.
• Software builds and test solutions using CI/CD, binary, secret, and test management.
• Developing services using SaaS, cloud-based environments, and large-scale clustered compute.
• Exploiting virtualization and cloud technologies using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Improving the daily life and productivity of engineers across Arm.
• Supporting and guiding the engineering community on how best to utilise the services offered.
• Collaborating with other engineering teams at Arm.
