About the team Semgrep’s Infrastructure team is responsible for building and maintaining Semgrep’s internal developer platform which supports many applications including our flagship Code, Supply Chain, and Secrets products, the Semgrep Cloud Platform and Semgrep Managed Scanning. Our team mission is to enable Semgrep’ers to effectively and confidently build, run, and manage their systems. We do this by providing a tightly integrated platform for going “from code to cloud” including CI/CD systems, Kubernetes on AWS cloud environments, and tools for operating software in production. About the role We are looking for a Database Engineer or Database Admin (DBA) with Postgres experience who is passionate about scalable, secure, performant, and reliable software.

Requirements

  • You have 7+ years of experience operating and maintaining production databases.
  • You have strong hands on experience with Postgres, RDS and/or Aurora
  • You are passionate about improving the availability and reliability of database systems
  • You know to work iteratively, fail fast, manage risk, and effectively respond to incidents
  • You have experience leading complex initiatives and working across teams
  • You are a thoughtful mentor and lifelong learner

Responsibilities

  • Own major infrastructure initiatives end-to-end, from working with stakeholders to identify needs through implementation, onboarding, and maintenance
  • Develop technical strategy, working cross functionally with other leaders at the company to determine the evolution of our cloud data infrastructure
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to support them in building the best possible products
  • Architect and build simple, maintainable, extensible and observable software systems
  • Advise, mentor, and sponsor other engineers inside and outside the team
  • Maintain the database systems we operate as part of our platform
