The Staff Data Scientist position is located at 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72716. The role involves various duties including data source identification, data strategy implementation, model assessment and validation, data visualization, understanding business context, technical problem formulation, analytical modeling, model deployment and scaling, and code development and testing. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to provide recommendations and develop business cases for projects, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.

  • Identify suitable data sources and perform initial data quality checks.
  • Articulate and apply data strategy principles to routine business problems.
  • Assess and validate models using best practice techniques.
  • Generate graphical representations of data and model outcomes.
  • Collaborate with User Experience designers and User Interface engineers.
  • Provide recommendations to business stakeholders for complex issues.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable projects and tasks.
  • Formulate business problems into data-related solutions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and identify trends.
  • Deploy models to production and track their behavior.
  • Write code to develop solutions and application features.
  • Create test cases and validate proposed solution designs.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience in analytics; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4 years of experience; OR 6 years of experience in analytics.
  • Experience with SQL for data management and analysis.
  • Experience in measuring campaign effectiveness and reporting metrics.
  • Proficiency in creating analytics dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Experience with ETL processes and using Apache Spark for data processing.
  • Ability to provide data-driven analytics support to marketing strategies.
  • Experience in performing descriptive analytics and statistical modeling using Python, R, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of quantitative analytical techniques including regression and data mining.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining statistical models using machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with statistical testing techniques like hypothesis testing and A/B testing.
